The 2009 Sauvignon Blanc was sourced from the Beckstoffer Melrose Ranch which is located in Rutherford in the heart of the Napa Valley. This is a region that is known for producing some of the finest Sauvignon Blanc grapes in the world. The wine was barrel-fermented in a combination of neutral white French oak and stainless steel barrels. After fermentation, the wine is aged sur-lee (on the lees) for 10 months. During the aging process, we stir the lees to enhance the mouthfeel and overall richness of the wine.
The Phipps 2009 Sauvignon Blanc has classic acidity, structure, and a round mouthfeel. It is further characterized by ripe citrus, melon & tropical notes and delivers amazing floral aromatics and a rich viscosity. The packaging for the Sauvignon Blanc is a silk-screened aloha pattern that is inspired by the clean, crisp, freshness of the wine inside.
